Welcome back to the pool for our first session of the new year, and what a great night it was on Friday club night. Our committee arranged for the swimmers to have the inflatable in the pool for the first hour, and this was followed by a Christmas recovery set and drills put together by Phil Thomas. It was lovely to see so many swimmers in the pool, and even better to see them smiling and laughing together.

I was also invited to swim extra races over the weekend to gain times in events I wouldn't usually swim, which included 100m fly and I managed to take off another 3 seconds since I last swam in December

Huge congratulations to Lily Rice who’s been competing in the para swimming in Aberdeen this last week. We’re so proud of you Lily

All swimmers who swim and represent the club at competition level will now be asked to wear only our competition swim hats. These hats will be our normal club colour but each squad will have their own individual sea horse logo colour.

Gold Squad = Gold Logo

Silver Squad = Silver Logo

Bronze Squad = Bronze Logo

Water Dragons = Red Logo

Starting with our April Club Championships all swimmers entering will be given a free hat with their squad logo colour. Swimmers should keep these for competitions, however you may if you wish wear them for training but if they break you will have to buy a new one for your next competition. All swimmers who have never received a hat will be presented one when they enter their first competition. Also any swimmer that gets promoted up to a higher squad will get a new hat presented free at next competition to show they swim with the higher squad. So, to all swimmers enter competitions, Work hard get promoted and be proud to wear your squad hats.

West Wales Regional Champiopnships

Another very good turn out and well supported on poolside by our team and Officials. Sorry again no spectators in the building.

With this competition only swimmers with QT or CT times can enter.

We had:-18 swimmers in 84 events with 69 new PBs (although these are only recorded as times that were quicker than entry times and may not be actual PBs as I do not have access to our up to date PB list.) Great news no DQs. Only 22 QT achieved by 8 swimmers so we may need to look at this to help more swimmers achieve a QT.
